Here's some TIPS in finding the right scent for you

Step 1: Do your research
Before you even start testing out scents, look at what you already have -- that will help you decide which fragrances you do and don’t like. Take note of the different scents in each lotion, candle and body wash and use this as a guide for finding a scent that includes a combination of your favorite smells.

Step 2: Sniff it out
Above all, you want a scent that you will like smelling every day. When you go to pick out your scent, smell the ones with names you are drawn to and take a whiff. Avoid testing too many, because some scents can be too strong or too fruity, and you want to make sure your nose isn’t sensitive to whichever one you choose. Also, smelling coffee beans between scents will help clear your nose when you're testing several scents at once.

Step 3: What’s in a name?
Example, a rose by any other name might smell as sweet, but the title of a scent can give you a good clue if it’s the right choice for you. If you like floral scents, look for names that include your favorite flower on the label. If you like the smell of a sea breeze, look for a fragrance titled similarly.

Step 4:
Consider your character
If your scent is going to be your “signature,” it needs to not only appeal to your sense of smell but also reflect who you are on the inside. If you are loud and outgoing, consider a scent that stands out, like citrus or ginger. If you are more reserved, try something subtler, with hints of lavender or vanilla.

Step 5: Try it before you buy it
The best way to know if a scent is for you is to give it a test run before you commit. Most stores have samples of each scent, so dab a little perfume on your wrist, or try some lotion and see how you like the scent as the day goes by. If it really was love at first whiff, go back and purchase the product later and enjoy your signature scent!
